Welcome to Sinclair Community College's Radiologic Technology Online Continuing Professional Education program. All modules on this site are approved by the American Society of Radiologic Technologists for Category A continuing professional education credit and fully satisfy CE requirements of the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists. Most module fees are set at $15 per CE credit. Members of the American Society of Radiologic Technologists receive a 25% discount on registration fees for all CE modules. If you are interested in becoming an ASRT member, click here.

To receive credit, you must first complete the entire module then successfully complete the final asessment. Successful completion is defined as a final assessment score of 75% or higher. A sample mini-module is available by clicking here.

The Learning Process: Five Steps

STEP 1: Set up a new account
First time users must create an Online CE account before registering for a module. The New User login registration is located in the upper left corner of the Home Page. Simply click on the link and complete all required fields. You will be asked to create a login name and password. It is important to remember both for efficient entry on subsequent visits. Once the new account is created, you may access and register for any CE module.

If you are a member of ASRT and a first-time visitor to the Online CE site, follow these steps as you create your new account: logon as a new user and enter data for all all account fields as indicated. Be sure to correctly enter your ASRT membership number. Also be sure to click the "submit" button once all data fields have been keyed. After hitting the submit button, you will need to log off and logon again to be recognized as an ASRT member. The user name and password you indicated on your account page are required for all subsequent logon visits to the site.

On future visits, simply click in the Login box on the home page and enter your user name and password. Each time you login to the Online CE site, you will be given an opportunity to update personal data. It is important to keep this information current so that accurate CE records can be maintained. Do not create a duplicate account if you have forgotten your user name or password. Under the logon field is a "forgot your password" link. Use this link and your user name and password will be immediately emailed to the email address you have listed on your account page.

STEP 2: Choose a module
Select the module of your choice by clicking the tab entitled CE Modules. Prior to actual module registration, you may want to read the course’s overview on the catalog page to review prerequisite and general module information. A registration link is provided at the top and bottom of the module’s overview page. Do not register for a module unless it has Course Status: Approved by ASRT. The ASRT approval is located directly beneath the Course Status title in the module. Some modules are currently pending approval. You should not enroll in these courses as you will not receive credit prior to final course approval.

STEP 3: Register to take a module
After clicking on the link from the module’s overview page, a registration page will open requesting credit card information. Please note that only Master Card or Visa credit card transactions can be processed. All fields must be completed before clicking the “Make Payment” button. Group prepaid memberships are provided if arranged in advance. For more information on group membership, contact:  denise.moore@sinclair.edu.

STEP 4: Begin and navigate the module
Each module is organized in sections or lessons. It is advisable to navigate the module's sections sequentially. As you study the module, you may encounter keywords identified in red. Each red word is listed as a thumbnail link in the margin to the right side of the text. Click the word in the margin to access additional information. All content resources are listed in the Module’s Overview for your convenience and reference.

After studying all content sections, you will complete a two-phase assessment process made up of Quiz Me and Final Exam questions. Quiz Me questions are designed as tutorials to help you prepare for the final exam. In the event you select an incorrect answer in the Quiz Me section, you will be given notice and you may choose to review the lesson again. Following review of the appropriate content, you will need to correctly answer the Quiz Me question.

The final exam contains at least 15 multiple-choice style questions and is the last section of the module to be completed. You must answer all Quiz Me questions before the final exam link becomes live. You will see the link to the final exam under the last lesson listed in the left navigational area of the content page. The link will not be live until all Quiz Me  questions are correctly answered.

A minimum passing score of 75% is required for successful completion of a course. Be sure to exercise caution when selecting and submitting final exam answers. For each final exam question, be sure of your answer choice before hitting the submit button. Once an answer is submitted, you will not be able to change your selection. You cannot go back during the final exam sessionDo not click your browser's Back button while taking the final exam. Once the answer is submitted, hitting the Back button will automatically terminate your session and a zero will be recorded for the exam attempt.

Also, once you begin the final exam, you will not be given further access to the module’s content. Should the online final exam period be interrupted or if you terminate in the middle of the final exam, you will be able to resume the exam at the point of interruption by logging back in. Each paid registration entitles you two complete attempts to pass the exam. In the event that a 75% or higher score is not achieved after the second attempt, you will need to re-register and re-pay for a subsequent attempt to pass. Remember, each paid registration provides two opportunities to pass the final exam at a 75% score or higher.

Please note that although you can take as long as you like to study the course material and complete the module, you will be logged out automatically by the site if your computer is inactive for more than 30 minutes. (An example of this would be accessing a lesson and not clicking on a keyword, scrolling the page, or otherwise interacting with the page for several minutes.) However, you can re-login at any time.

STEP 5: Document your continuing education credits
An electronic certificate of completion will serve as documentation of CE credit and will be immediately emailed upon successful completion of the module. For active members of the American Society of Radiologic Technologists, electronic notification of module completion will be forwarded automatically to ASRT, provided your ASRT member number was entered at the time of module registration. Please note: ASRT will be automatically notified of your CE credit if you entered your ASRT member number at the time of module registration and if you successfully completed the module. The ASRT CE record is updated nightly; therefore please allow 24 hours for the posting of updated student records. If you are an ASRT member and did not enter your member number, you will need to forward module completion documentation to ASRT on your own. Once you enter your ASRT member number for the first time, you must log off and logon again to be recognized as a member.

Learners may receive CE credit for a single module title once; that is, once you have received credit for completing any given module, you may not re-take the course for CE credit in any biennium. CE regulations of the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) state that an individual may not duplicate a self-learning activity for CE credit. This includes online CE modules. Once an activity has been submitted to ARRT to satisfy CE requirements, it may not be reported again in the same or any subsequent biennium.

SPECIAL NOTE FOR FLORIDA TECHNOLOGISTS:

Effective July, 14, 2001, The Florida Department of Health (DOH), Bureau of Radiation Control issued final approval of all CE.Sinclair.edu Online CE Modules provided they have been approved by the American Society of Radiologic Technologists (ASRT). Approval status is indicated separately for each module. See CE module listing to verify official ASRT CE approval.

Upon completion of an approved module, technologists will be sent and official electronic certificate of completion to verify earned CE credits. To meet Florida license CE requirements, a copy of the official electronic certificate of completion must be forwarded to DOH at the time of license renewal to serve as evidence of CE completion. A copy of the electronic certificate should only be sent when you renew your Florida license. DO NOT send a copy to the DOH unless you are renewing your Florida license
