This module is presented in a format combining audio with lesson text appearing in a slide show. Flash Player is required to play the file, and can be downloaded here.

This module introduces the learner to one of the lesser known complications resulting from the administration on Benzocaine during TEE. After completing the course, the learner will be able to understand the pathophysiology of methemoglobinemia, recognize the associated signs and symptoms and the method of treatment used. Helpful nursing interventions will also be discussed.

This activity may be available in multiple formats or from different sponsors. The ARRT does not allow CE activities such as internet courses, home study programs or directed readings to be repeated for CE credit in the same or any subsequent biennium.
